STUDENTS 'MANAGERS' IN DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION MONTANA
Today on the 19/03/2012 Once again, the District Administration Montana hosted a national initiative "Manager for a Day", which this year for the eleventh time was organized by "Junior Achievement Bulgaria" under the patronage of the Minister of Finance Simeon Djankov.
The campaign started at 9.30 pm in the conference room of District Administration of Montana in the presence of the governor of Montana Ivaylo Petrov, deputy governor Nina Petkova, Secretary of Administration Ivan Todorov, directors of administrative departments and the media.
The opening event was accompanied by a signing a contracts for training, between young "managers" - students from FBS "Vasil Levski" and IX School "Yordan Radichkov" - Montana and the governor.
Randomly students were divided into the following positions: Governor - Alexander Alexandrov - X class, deputy governor - Nina Ivanova - XII class, deputy governor - Mihaela Mihaylova - XII class; Chief Secretary-Laura Stefanova - XII class; Director Directorate - George Yanchev - XII class; Director Directorate – Ivan Petrov - XII class.
Once acquainted with the functions of district administration first thing that made Alexander Alexandrov, having entered the role of the governor, was to gather his team together and developed a written proposal on "My idea for the development of Montana".  Ivailo Petrov governor personally handed certificates to the participants in the initiative, wished them success in their professional realization and did not hide his certainty that one day, maybe one of them will be the future governor of Montana.

First meeting of the Regional Committee for “Safety on the road”
Today, 16.03.2012, from 11.00 pm in the largest meeting room of District Administration Montana took place the first meeting of the Regional Committee for “Safety on the road” under the chairmanship of Mr. Ivailo Petrov - governor of Montana.
At the meeting were discussed and adopted with solid vote the rules for the composition and activities of the committee and the proposal of the governor set up a working group, composed of representatives of District Administration Montana, sector "Traffic Police" in RD of the Ministry of Interior – Montana, Regional Road Administration – Montana, Regional Inspectorate on Education - Montana, National auto-instructional Union and the Bulgarian Association of victims of accidents, to prepare a draft for Regional Strategy to improve safety on the roads of the territory of Montana for the period 2012 – 2020.
At the end of the meeting attendees were aware of the subject, key objectives and main factors of the national strategy for improving safety on the roads in Bulgaria for the period 2011 – 2020.

District administration Montana, with new approved project within "Beautiful Bulgaria" programme
The building site “Administrative building of District Administration - renovation of facade - a second stage ", with which District Administration Montana applies on Project " Beautiful Bulgaria " 2012, measure 01 "Improving the urban environment" was approved for funding and implementation with Decision № 1/12.03 0.2012 of the Board of the Programme - "Beautiful Bulgaria".
The project is a total value of 289,804 lv., of which 99 982 lv. funding from the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and 189,822 lv. cofinancing from Council of Ministers. With mentioned above decision of the Board of Project "Beautiful Bulgaria" approved sites are in total 25.
Forthcoming is the signature of an agreement between the Governor Mr. Ivaylo Petrov and MLSP. Activities for the realization of the object must be completed no later than 23/11/2012.

Heritage Site “Administrative building of District Administration - renovation of the facade - a second stage", with which District Administration Montana applies for Project "Beautiful Bulgaria" 2012, measure 01"Improving the urban environment" was approved for funding and implementation with Decision № 1/12.03 0.2012 of the Governing Board of the Project "Beautiful Bulgaria".
Approved project is worth 289.804 levs, of which 99,982 are from the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, and the remaining 189,824 are co-financed by Council of Ministers. With this decision of the Board of "Beautiful Bulgaria", projects approved become 25.

Began construction of a treatment plant for effluent in Varshets
On 5 March in the town Varshets officially opened the construction site for the realization of “treatment plant for effluent in Varshets”. The project is implemented under the contract grant № 58111-113-304 / 29.12.2008 on the Operational Programme "Environment 2007-2013". The opening was organized by the municipality Varshtets together with DZZD "PONS-MASS" - contractor on the site. Mayor Ivan Lazarov congratulated the present and thanked the institutions which have helped to achieve this so important for the town project.
Guests at the event were representatives from the Ministry of Environment and Waters, MP Dimitar Avramov, Deputy Governor Nina Petkova, the Director of RIEW - Montana Denitsa Slavkova, experts and residents.

Deputy governor Nina Petkova visited children in social homes in Montana
To celebrate 1st of March the Deputy Governor Nina Petkova visited three social care homes in Montana - Home for medical and social care in Montana, SZNST in village of Gavril Genovo and Home for children deprived of parental care – George Damianovo. She gave colorful martenitsi for health, fruits and sweets to children. The children thanked the visitor, delighted her with songs, rhymes, dances and told a wonderful story about martenitsa that load audience with good mood.

Montana celebrates National Day
On the "Jeravitsa" square in the district center, was celebrated 3rd of March, the day of liberation of Bulgaria. Despite the strong wind, hundreds of citizens attended the raising of the national flag. Official Speech on the occasion of the remarkable date ruled the MP Iskra Fidosova. Members of the 41 th National Assembly, the governor Ivaylo Petrov, deputy governor Nina Petkova, public organizations, students and dozens of citizens from the region brought wreaths and flowers as a sign of gratitude in front of the “Monument of the War Memorial”.

Securing to all crosswalks in the country
By Order № 359 of Ih-24.02.2012 of the Minister of Interior and the Order № RD-02-14-447 Minister of Regional Development and Public Works have approved guidelines for securing the walkways on roads open to public use and the streets of the settlements. Existing footpaths should be brought into compliance with these Guidelines within 01.05.2012.
In these guidelines are set measures for securing the walkways so that they can be promptly spotted by the drivers. The goal is to protect the health and lives of pedestrians. Existing regulations has not been updated since 1989. It prohibits the placement of bumps on the streets, which run mass public transport. The new guidelines allow this to happen as prescribed by the departments designated by the Minister of the Interior to control the traffic regulations, according to traffic conditions and in coordination with administration managing the road. An important point in the signed instructions is that it allow the construction of "elevated" crosswalks. A detailed description of requirements for the organization of traffic signaling and lighting of the walkways.
The control over compliance the guidelines is responsibility of local authorities, the Chairman of the Board of the Agency "Road Infrastructure", the directors of all the RD of MI in the country.
